Galatians 5:19-21 says, “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
The way a man lives must reflect God (Galatians 5: 22-23). We must ask God to give us a heavenly character to please and represent Him in front of man (Luke 11:9). To become more like Christ (perfect) and less of us (sinful nature) (Matthew 5:48).
By living a life according to God’s standard He will reward us with everlasting life. However, if anyone chooses to live a life opposite to God’s standard he or she shall miss out on heaven and receive death (Romans 6:23). The absolute goal is heaven and as mentioned above one cannot live a filthy life and still gain heaven, they must live a life according to God’s standard. Jesus came on earth to save the world and give humanity access to heaven; He wants us to follow Him for He is our only hope (John 3:17).
My prayer for all of us is to seek God daily in order to become more like Him and to receive the reward that He has promised His loved ones. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him” James 1:12
